Announcing The Athlete Springboard

The Athlete Springboard, created by Stride Athletics and supported by Achilles Heel, is a new initiative created to help bridge the gap between amateur and professional athletics.

Successful applicants will receive a 12-month support package, while representing Stride Athletics on and off the track.

Callum Matthews, Head of Stride Athletics said: "Since launching Stride I have been very keen to ensure that we support both the current and future generation of athletes.

"We dipped our toes in the water with our ‘Pro for a Day’ initiative at Flat 'N Fast 3 and I’m very excited to take this even further with today’s announcement.

"I’d like to thank Katie, Stef and Steven from Achilles Heel for not just supporting the programme, but for all of their backing since sponsoring the initial Flat 'N Fast in September 2023.

"I’m really looking forward to growing our relationship with them over the next year and working closely with our athletes to make this a valuable opportunity for them."

What are we looking for?

We are looking to support two male and two female high-potential athletes who aim to go even further in the sport. Alongside highlighting your athletic performances, your love and passion for athletics should be evident in your application. We want to work with athletes who match our values at Stride so make sure to let your personality shine through.

What is the aim of the programme?

The aim is to help high-achieving amateur athletes on their journey to developing their athletics career over a 12-month period.

What will the selected athletes receive?

Selected athletes will receive many benefits including kit, marketing and management support.

What do Stride expect in return?

Athletes should:

  • Should compete in Stride branded apparel at all non-club events (i.e BMC/open graded meets).

  • Collaborate in content creation.

  • Endurance athletes will be expected to compete in bi-annual Flat 'N Fast 5K events.

How does the application process work?

Online applications open on November 4 and will close at 11:59pm on Saturday, November 30 2024. Successful athletes will then be contacted and officially announced via our social media channels.
